Product Description

This high-precision 99.8% alumina (Al₂O₃) ceramic bushing is an industrial component manufactured through precision forming and high-temperature sintering. It is a thin-walled, cylindrical alumina ceramic part featuring circular holes and elongated windows on its outer wall, notches along the top edge, and a stepped base with a through-hole. The component has an off-white appearance and a dense surface structure. Characterized by high hardness, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, excellent electrical insulation, and high dimensional accuracy, it is widely used in sectors such as machinery, electronics, chemical processing, and medical technology.

Characteristics of 99.8% alumina material

Property Performance Practical Application
High Purity ~99.8% Al₂O₃ content, low impurity levels Suitable for semiconductor, vacuum, and high-purity media environments
Excellent Electrical Insulation High electrical resistivity, low dielectric loss Used for high-voltage insulation and electrode isolation
High-Temperature Resistance Stable for long-term use in high-temperature oxidizing atmospheres Furnace components, heating equipment parts
Corrosion Resistance Stable against most acids, bases, and corrosive gases Chemical processing, electroplating, and wet-process equipment
High Hardness & Wear Resistance Resistant to erosion by powders and mechanical scratching Wear-resistant bushings, guide components
Moderate Thermal Conductivity & High Brittleness Lower thermal shock resistance compared to silicon nitride or silicon carbide Exercise caution during rapid temperature changes (thermal cycling) or mechanical impact

Compared to 95% alumina, the 99.8% grade offers superior insulation stability, corrosion resistance, high-temperature stability, and better control over metallic impurities; however, it comes at a higher cost and is somewhat more difficult to machine.

Primary Application Areas

1. Semiconductors and Vacuum Equipment

Used for insulating bushings within vacuum chambers, wafer-handling spacers, gas distribution cylinders, and corrosion-resistant liners. Its low metallic impurity content minimizes contamination, making it ideal for equipment used in processes like etching, deposition, and ion implantation.

2. Industrial Furnaces and Heating Equipment

Serves as sheaths for heating elements, support bushings for furnace interiors, protective liners for thermocouples, and high-temperature isolation cylinders; capable of long-term operation in oxidizing atmospheres.

3. Electronic and Electrical Insulation

Leveraging its insulating and thermal-conductive properties, it is used for high-voltage insulating cylinders, electrode isolation sleeves, mounting bushings for heating elements, and insulating supports in power supply equipment—utilizing its high electrical resistance and heat tolerance.

4. Chemical Processing and Corrosive Environments

Employed as liners for pumps and valves, flow-directing cylinders, bushings for agitator shafts, internal components for filters, or protective tubes for thermocouples in corrosive media; it offers superior resistance to acids, bases, and corrosive gases compared to metals.

5. Sensors and Instrumentation

Functions as a protective housing or isolation sleeve for gas sensors, oxygen sensors, and high-temperature probes, providing both electrical insulation and protection against environmental erosion.

6. New Energy and Battery Testing

Utilized in high-temperature test fixtures, insulating bushings for battery clamps, and isolation components exposed to electrolyte-corrosive environments (subject to specific media compatibility and temperature profile requirements).

7. Wear-resistant mechanical components

Used as wear-resistant bushings and guide sleeves in equipment for powder transport, grinding, and cutting; these components reduce metal wear and contamination, while their high wear resistance significantly extends the service life of the equipment.

8. Medical and bioengineering

High-purity alumina exhibits biocompatibility and can be used for applications such as artificial joints and dental implants.

9. Aerospace

Used in the manufacture of high-temperature and wear-resistant engine components or thermal protection systems.
