Product Description

Alumina insulator rings are ring-shaped insulating components made of high-purity alumina ceramic. They are a vital and common component in the industrial, electronic, and power sectors.

When "95% alumina" is specified, it means that the ceramic material is approximately 95% aluminum oxide by weight. The remaining 5% is typically a glassy phase composed of other oxides, such as silicon dioxide, calcium oxide, and magnesium oxide. These additives help lower sintering temperatures and improve process performance.

Performance and Advantages

95% Alumina Ceramic Insulatoing Rings have the following performance characteristics:
  • 1. Excellent Electrical Insulation: High volume resistivity (>10^14 Ω·cm), fully meeting most industrial electrical insulation requirements. Although slightly lower than 99% alumina, the difference is not significant in typical applications.
  • 2. High Mechanical Strength: Flexural strength is typically 300-350 MPa, and compressive strength is >2000 MPa. Its strength is slightly lower than 99% alumina (approximately 10%-20% lower), but it is more than sufficient for most structural support and insulation applications.
  • 3. Excellent high-temperature resistance: Long-term operating temperatures can reach 1500°C, and short-term maximum operating temperatures can reach 1600°C. This is slightly lower than 99% alumina (~1700°C), but far exceeds the temperature limits of most metals and plastics.
  • 4. Good thermal conductivity: The room-temperature thermal conductivity is approximately 20-25 W/(m·K). This is significantly lower than 99% alumina (approximately 30 W/(m·K)), a key performance difference between 95% and 99% materials. This is a key consideration in applications requiring efficient heat dissipation, such as high-power semiconductors.
  • 5. Good corrosion resistance: It offers good resistance to most acids and alkalis, but is less resistant to hydrofluoric acid and hot concentrated alkali solutions. Its corrosion resistance is generally slightly lower than that of high-purity alumina above 99.5%.

  • Excellent cost-effectiveness: This is the greatest advantage of 95% alumina. Its relatively low sintering temperature, mature process, and favorable raw material costs make it the most economical alumina ceramic solution.
  • Balanced overall performance: It offers an excellent combination of strength, hardness, insulation, and heat resistance, capable of solving insulation, support, and thermal conductivity problems in most harsh working conditions.
  • Mature technology and stable supply: The production process (especially dry pressing) is highly mature, enabling rapid, large-scale production.
