Product Description

Zirconia ceramic bushings are precision industrial parts made from zirconium oxide (ZrO2). Due to their excellent balance of hardness, toughness, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance, they are hailed as the "steel" of ceramics. They are mainly used to protect the core components of equipment, replacing traditional metal bushings under extremely harsh working conditions.

Performance Advantages

Compared to traditional metals (such as high-carbon steel, alloy steel) or other ceramic materials, zirconia ceramic bushings have outstanding performance advantages:

  • High Wear Resistance: Hardness approaching diamond, wear resistance far exceeding that of metal materials, and service life more than 10 times that of steel parts.
  • Strong Corrosion Resistance: Stable in highly corrosive environments such as acids and alkalis, unaffected by chemical substances, suitable for harsh working conditions in chemical and petroleum industries.
  • Low Density and High Strength: With a density only 1/3 that of traditional metals, it boasts a compressive strength of 1200–1400 MPa, achieving a "lightweight yet strong" structural advantage.
  • Self-Lubricating and Low Friction: High surface finish (mirror-like roughness), low coefficient of friction, excellent self-lubricating properties, and low operating noise (below 35 dB), reducing energy consumption and wear.
  • Good Biocompatibility: No rejection reactions in the medical field, suitable for use in human implants.

The table below provides a visual comparison of the performance of zirconium oxide ceramics and several common materials:

Specific Applications

1. Petroleum Drilling Industry: Used for mud pump bushings, significantly improving pump lifespan and reducing maintenance costs.

2. Chemical and Mining Industry: Used for metering pumps, plunger pumps, valves, and other fluid handling equipment. Zirconia bushings effectively prevent corrosion and contamination, ensuring product purity. In corrosive and high-wear environments, they replace metal bushings, improving equipment operating efficiency. Construction Industry: Used in concrete pumps to enhance equipment durability.

3. Mechanical Engineering: Widely used in precision components such as valves, bearings, nozzles, and cutting tools.

4. Electronics and Communications: As a fiber optic connector ferrule, replacing metal and plastic, reducing light loss and improving signal transmission stability.

5. Aerospace: Used as a thermal barrier coating, wear-resistant bushing, and infrared window material, contributing to hypersonic vehicles and satellite systems.

6. Medical Field: Used in artificial joints, dental implants, etc., combining strength and biocompatibility.

7. Consumer Electronics: Used as a smartphone back panel and smartwatch case, providing a premium feel and scratch resistance.
